~~ records management, oral history, and management of archives and special collections ~~

Cut to the Chase Archival Management Strategies
Practical tips and strategies from a veteran archivist, giving you immediate professional "know how" in the field, on the ground
--not just out of a textbook.  Whether you are new or old to archivists' work, you will benefit from the "weathered, seasoned" advice given here.  You don't have to take a course at an institution of higher education to learn the theory and practice of being a terrific archivist.

Teach yourself archival skills by taking the free online 11-week course, using more than 100 pages of lecture notes, plus mid-term and final review notes and practical explanations of some key archival concepts.

Get a boost on doing oral history interviews, using the modifiable forms and the guidelines for doing a great interview.

Find, all in one place, useful tools for understanding copyright, finding out what day of the week of a particular date, and looking at a century-old chart of the names of the days of the week in 160 languages throughout world history.

Read a biblical perspective on doing archival work, and download an e-book of a Certified Archivist's advice on how to manage your own papers and photos.

Hire Todd Ellison as a consultant to help you with archival, records management, digitization, and/or oral history interviewing projects.

Here's what Mary in Florida wrote about the free, self-administered online course here:

Thank you so much for making this free introductory course to archives available online! I took one archival studies course while completing the requirements for my B.A. in History in the early 2000's and enjoyed it very much - so in many ways this online course was a refresher but at the same time included valuable new information to me. I eventually want to work as a digital archivist or audio-visual archivist and am in the process of gaining knowledge and practice in the field.

Above all, thank you so much for making this course enjoyable from start to finish! Gratefully yours.
